Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on Technical Manager to lead our Embedded Hardware and Firmware teams. The role involves technical leadership, architecture ownership, problem-solving, reviews, mentoring, and ensuring high-quality delivery of electronics used in servo drives, VFDs, and motion control products. This is an engineering-driven role, not just people management.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Architecture Leadership
- Own end-to-end embedded hardware + firmware architecture ownership
- Define technology roadmaps for MCU/SoC, power management, RTOS, toolchains
- Make decisions balancing performance, cost, reliability, and cybersecurity
- Act as technical escalation point for complex HW–FW issues
Hands-on Engineering Contribution
- Participate in hardware schematic/layout reviews
- Participate in firmware design/code &its reviews
- Support prototype bring-up, debugging using oscilloscope, JTAG/SWD
- Drive root-cause analysis for field, EMC, reliability issues
Embedded Hardware Leadership
- Guide MCU/SoC-based designs, analog/digital circuits, power supplies
- Ensure EMC/EMI-compliant design, component selection, derating and reliability
- Oversee verification & environmental testing
Embedded Firmware Leadership
- Lead development of low-level drivers, RTOS/bare-metal firmware, bootloader, secure boot, firmware update mechanisms and communication stack (EtherCAT, CAN)
- Lead implementation of communication protocols (EtherCAT, CAN, PROFINET, etc.)
- Ensure adherence to cybersecurity practices (IEC 62443)
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with Controls, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety & Cybersecurity teams
- Ensure alignment of requirements, interfaces, verification, certifications
- Support audits, certifications & customer support
Team & Execution Guidance
- Mentor hardware and firmware engineers
- Build strong engineering culture and review processes
- Enforce documentation, change management, and quality practices
Required Experience
- 12–18 years in embedded hardware + firmware development
- Strong hands-on experience with industrial electronics (servo drives, inverters, motion products)
- Prior role as Technical Lead / Architect / Hands-on Manager
