Job Summary
About the Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using industry-leading tools like Playwright and WebDriver IO. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by automating critical business workflows, executing comprehensive regression suites, and driving continuous improvements in our testing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Framework Development: Design and maintain scalable Playwright and WebDriver IO automation frameworks that support comprehensive test coverage across multiple environments.
- Test Automation: Automate critical business workflows and regression test suites to ensure product quality and reliability.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster release cycles.
- Cross-Environment Testing: Execute automated tests across multiple environments (development, staging, production) to validate functionality and performance.
- Defect Analysis: Analyze test failures using Datadog, cloud logs, and other monitoring tools to identify root causes and support troubleshooting efforts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, troubleshoot defects, and resolve quality issues.
- Quality Improvement: Continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall testing processes to meet quality standards and project deadlines.
- Metrics and Reporting: Produce automation metrics, quality dashboards, and reports to provide visibility into test execution results and quality trends.
- Release Support: Participate in release validation activities and provide production support to ensure smooth deployments.
- Best Practices: Drive the adoption of QA best practices and quality engineering principles across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in QA and software testing.
- Playwright Expertise: At least 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing automation frameworks using Playwright.
- Automation Testing: Proven expertise in test automation, including framework design, test case development, and execution.
- CI/CD Pipeline Knowledge: Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating automated tests into continuous integration and deployment workflows.
- Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with Agile testing practices.
- Debugging and Analysis: Ability to analyze test failures, review logs, and troubleshoot defects effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- WebDriver IO: Experience with WebDriver IO automation framework.
- AI-Assisted Testing Tools: Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and intelligent test automation.
- Playwright MCP Integrations: Experience with Playwright Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations.
- Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with Datadog, cloud logging platforms, and other monitoring and observability tools.
- Performance Testing: Experience with performance and load testing tools.
- API Testing: Knowledge of API testing and REST/GraphQL testing frameworks.
