About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled SmartComm Developer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, migrating, maintaining, and supporting Internet/Intranet systems and applications using SmartComm technology. You will work on complex communication systems, ensuring seamless integration across multiple channels and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Internet/Intranet systems and applications using SmartComm
- Configure and deploy Smart Communications Appliance in Cloud and Hybrid environments
- Create and manage SmartComm modules including Data Modeler, Advanced Template Designer, and Web Editor
- Design and develop multi-channel communications (Print, Web/HTML, Email, Archive, SMS, Fax, etc.)
- Generate interactive communications using Draft Editor, Data Capture, and iPDF tools
- Migrate legacy communication systems from Opetext Extreme to SmartComm
- Design static layouts for print and responsive layouts for web platforms
- Prepare XML data schemas and map them to business data objects
- Create and manage layout designs, style sets, and template selectors
- Develop Simple, Scriptable Batch Config/Template Selector and Output Configurations for post-processing
- Integrate SmartComm with upstream systems and third-party applications
- Troubleshoot and validate templates, forms, and communication outputs
- Utilize Thunderhead/Smart Communication APIs for system integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
- Provide technical support and maintenance for existing systems

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in design, development, migration, maintenance, and support of Internet/Intranet systems and applications using SmartComm
- Sound knowledge of SmartCOMM Modules: Data Modeler, Advanced Template Designer, and Web Editor
- Sound knowledge of Smart Communications Appliance Configuration and Deployment Models (Cloud/Hybrid)
- Sound knowledge in generating Interactive Communications (Draft Editor, Data Capture, iPDFs)
- Proven experience in migrating legacy systems from Opetext Extreme to SmartComm
- Expertise in layout design, style sets, and template selector
- Strong knowledge of Thunderhead/Smart Communication APIs
- Proficiency in XML data schema preparation and mapping to business data objects
- Hands-on experience designing and developing multi-channel communications
- Expertise in creating static layouts for print and responsive layouts for web
- Technical knowledge in creating batch configurations and output configurations for post-processing
- Experience in troubleshooting and validating templates and forms
- Proven experience working in an Agile environment
Desirable Qualifications
- Expertise in Java/J2EE programming
- Strong knowledge of JSON and Web services
- Experience with other Customer Communications Management (CCM) tools
